Rhys Sebastian

Rhys Sebastian

Rhys Sebastian is a saxophonist, arranger, and composer with nearly two decades of experience across live performance, recording, composition, and musical direction. Known for his versatility and expressive musicianship, he has collaborated with some of India’s leading artists and productions while building a career that spans film, television, advertising, and live concerts.

In 2016, Rhys was a featured saxophonist on A. R. Rahman’s World Tour in Malaysia. More recently, he performed as a featured saxophonist with Hanumankind in 2025. As the Creative Director of Bombay Brass since 2019, he has led acclaimed performances for projects including A Suitable Boy (Netflix), Ritviz x NH7, Coke Studio Bharat, Lollapalooza India, NIMAD, and Jatayu at Wonderfruit Festival.

Rhys is also a collaborator with SAZ, leading a Rajasthani folk ensemble with performances at prestigious venues including the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre and the Rajasthani International Folk Festival. Since 2011, he has been an integral part of The Bartender, working closely with Mikey McCleary as a studio artist and live performer before taking on the role of Band Leader in 2016.

His extensive body of work includes contributions as a featured saxophonist, arranger, vocalist, and session musician for artists such as Sandunes, Tejas, Second Sight Music, and NIMAD, as well as film and OTT projects including The Archies, Bombay Meri Jaan, and Dug Dug. His early career also includes studio vocal work for the Hindi versions of The Jungle Book 2 and The Prince of Egypt.

Beyond performance, Rhys has composed music for advertising campaigns for brands including TATA AIG, Aircel, Little Hearts, FedEx, and Pepsodent, while also recording sessions for campaigns with Cadbury, Amul, Indian Terrain, Ponds, Magnum Ice Cream, and Vodafone.

With a career defined by artistic range and collaborative excellence, Rhys Sebastian continues to push creative boundaries as a performer, composer, arranger, and musical director across India’s contemporary music landscape.
